WOW, what a journey we have had so far! It seems like no time at all since wilderness tribe went from one of those ‘what if’ moments around my fire pit, to having a structured plan for the next 12 months.

First Tribe Wilderness Therapy Project

In the last month we have been busy working with our local community and identifying what their needs are and even locations for our first project. These have ranged from mature woodlands, natureresurves and even disused urban greenspace.

We cant give too much away at the moment, but we are currently in the process of acquiring funding for our first ever tribe, focused on reconnecting the local community with nature and each other after lockdown.

Chris faces the learning curve

Chris will be taking 3 courses between now and the end of September, two weekend courses in Bushcraft and mindfulness, put on by Woodland Classroom and a level 3 certificate in Advanced Wilderness Therapy.
“I have to say I am both excited and a little nervous at the same time ” admitted Director Chris grice.

“I have always been passionate about the outdoors and nature and spent a lot of time working with both young people and adults. My hope is that this will tie everything together ready for our launch later in the year.

This was a large undertaking but I was adamant that I wanted to build a quality project that has a great impact on our community. Self development is a a big part of maintaining a healthy balance in life anyway” he added.

Keep an eye on our blog and social media over the next 2 months to follow our journey.

Raise Funds while you shop

Our long term strategy is to become self sufficient, but like all ventures in the beginning every little helps.

We have teamed up with easyfundraising.org a scheme where loads of top online retailers donate a small percentage of your online shop to Wilderness Tribe.

The great thing about this is that it is a way of people being able to raise funds at no cost to themselves.
